The Lake District is a dog owner’s heaven with literally thousands of walks for all abilities & agilities.
We offer you the choice to book 1 of the best pet & dog friendly cottages in the Lake District where the quality of our accommodation is as high as you’ll find in holiday homes that don’t allow dogs.
Most of our holiday cottages in the Lake District have enclosed gardens to help you relax knowing that your dog won’t be wandering off or jumping over walls chasing sheep.
We too are dog owners and are aware of the difficulty in finding good quality and luxury pet friendly holiday cottages in the Lake District. We take huge pride in the cleanliness of our properties and spend extra time cleaning to ensure that each cottage is fresh and clean to void any potential doggie smells for our next guests.
We believe that dogs need holidays too. The Lake District has a huge choice of walks from sandy beaches on the Cumbrian coast and Morecambe Bay to footpaths on fells, mountains and where your dog can be let off the lead to run and enjoy our wonderful countryside without fear of disturbing cattle and sheep (please check to ensure there are no sheep or cattle nearby before doing so though).
The Lake District is full of wonderful pubs and unlike many other areas in the UK, most of our pubs are pet friendly and child friendly too-there’s a warm welcome for everyone!
We allow up to 2 dogs to be booked in to stay in our holiday cottages at the time of booking. We charge £20 for 1 dog or £30 for 2 dogs. This charge goes towards extra cleaning with a specialist pet hair removing Miele hoover so that non dog owners can rest assured that they will not see or smell any evidence that a pet or dog has stayed in 1 of our self-catering
cottages.
Our holiday cottages are some of the best dog friendly cottages in the Lake District that you will find. There’s nothing worse than staying in a cottage that smells of other people’s dogs and we pride ourselves that this will not be something that you will experience when staying in our cottages.
Guests bringing a pet with them receive our ‘pet friendly’ info sheet. This contains a few simple requests like keeping your dog off the furniture and also includes a couple of our favourite walks from the doorstep that are ideal for those much needed doggy toilet trips.
We will consider allowing more than 2 dogs to stay in our dog friendly cottages depending on the cottage and the size of the dogs. Please email us to discuss your request.
Virtually all the wonderful local pubs you’ll come across in the Lake District are dog friendly. Your dog will often receive an extra special very warm welcome off the dog loving landlord/landlady and often a nice dog biscuit or treat off a pet friendly local too!
