Honister Slate Mine
See the mines at first hand by taking an underground tour of this excellent Lake District attraction.
If you’re feeling adventurous try out the Via Ferrata. Introduced in 2007 the Honister Via Ferratas were the first in the UK. Using the original miners track up the precipitous outer incline of Fleetwith Pike, the addition of a continuous cable made climbing this magnificent Lake District Mountain achievable and safe for everyone with a head for heights!
The site house the ‘Sky Hi’ Cafe and the gift shop and showroom is where you can pick up anything from a house number plaque to an elegant slate water feature for your garden.
