Cartmel restaurant is awarded 2 Michelin stars

L’Enclume
Simon Rogan and L’Enclume have at last been awarded a 2nd Michelin star, confirming this wonderful Cartmel restaurant as the only restaurant in Northern England to be given 2 shiny Michelin stars – at the time of writing.
The 2013 edition of the Michelin guide only awarded 2 stars to 18 restaurants in England and thus highlights the level of this fantastic achievement.
The Which? Good Food Guide 2013 has declared L’Enclume a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. The only other restaurant to be given this score was Heston’s ‘Fat Duck’.
The Which? Good Food Guide 2013 has also rated L’Enclume as the 2nd best restaurant in the UK.
Simon Rogan’s other restaurant in Cartmel, Rogan & Co is also doing really well and is rating highly in the Which? Good Food Guide 2013.
Simon Rogan has recently taken over the Pig & Whistle pub on the outskirts of Cartmel village. The food here is more traditional pub food and the small public bar has been kept as a popular place for us locals. Well-behaved tourists are welcomed too 😁
What a village! Surely no-one can now doubt Cartmel’s credentials as the best village in Cumbria and probably even quite a bit further afield!
