We had a fantastic stay at Charcoal House and couldn’t fault anything.
The house itself is clean and comfortable and luxurious – it was perfect for our family of 6. We enjoyed coffees on the balcony and dinner in the garden! It is in a peaceful location, perfectly located to explore Coniston and the South Lakes.
We particularly enjoyed making the most of the recommendations and walks straight from the house – the one straight up the hill was ideal for us and our young family.
The host, Simon, was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. He ensured we had all the details we needed for our stay and he provided additional recommendations during our stay too (great walks and also a fantastic local bakery and ice cream shop we’d also recommend).
It was a perfect stay for us. We are already trying to plan when we can stay again next year in the hope we can stay longer! – Victoria Raven

Lovely house!

The whole property is as mentioned on the description and perfect for a getaway. It had everything we needed and more.
The property was spotless with all appliances functioning properly.
Very good location for walks and trips to the caves and lakes in the area.

Hi Simon,
We absolutely loved our stay at Charcoal House.
I am now a fully fledged admirer of cooking with an Aga and was very pleasantly surprised at the range of Le Creauset cooking pots and all other cooking pans and appliances.
The water pressure in the showers was heavenly, the house was immaculate and we didn’t want to leave.
The locals were pleasant and unobtrusive and we had Sunday dinner at The Ship, on the outskirts of Coniston. It was fantastic, the staff were amazing and humorous.
We will definitely book again!
Thank you again for everything, my wife loved it too.

“Countryside bliss!”
Every single room was a great size, the place is presented perfectly! As soon as you enter you feel so at home, the host Simon was so helpful and gave us a list of nearby pubs and walks he recommends, 10/10 from the 7 of us. We will be coming again – Kelly
