This is a beautiful property. It is extremely well-equipped and furnished. All the furnishings are very good quality and the beds, sofas and chairs are very comfortable.
We found it very spacious for our family group of 8, ranging in age from 6 to 70.

We felt at home the moment we arrived. Even better in reality than in the photos (which are good).
Lovely aga warmed kitchen. Delightful garden. Living room was a wow and so comfy. Beautiful views from the bedrooms.
Very quiet situation and near to so much.
Recommend the Manor House to have dinner and Swallows & Amazons cafe just up the road ((by car) to just hang out and take in the stunning views (and lunch).
Will definitely be telling my friends and family to stay at Charcoal House – Caroline Senior

“Stunning house and perfect family get together”
Beautiful house! So much space for us all to get together without being under each others’ feet.
Really well equipped and so spacious. Great communication with the owner who very promptly deal with a small problem.

We had a fantastic time!
We got really lucky with the weather and did plenty of walking. I have the blisters to prove it lol.
By the way, that’s the best Aga we have ever used! Really accurate instructions and we had plenty of perfectly cooked eggs, casseroles and fajitas!
We hope to book again sometime in the future. I think this was our 11th holiday with you & we have had some very special memories so thank you. 🙏🏻

“Magical Christmas Stay”
I booked directly with Simon for the Beautiful Charcoal House to spend Christmas week with my family – 6 adults, 2 children and Bonnie our dog.
What a haven it was!! Spacious and x so comfortable.
I’m very particular and was so impressed by the highest standard of cleanliness – it was immaculate.
The festive touches were in place throughout and the beautiful Christmas tree in the spacious, luxurious upstairs lounge was so lovely.
Everything we needed was supplied to cook Christmas dinner – so well thought out.
I LOVED the AGA and am a convert!!
We all loved Charcoal House.
The weather was wet and windy but we still ventured out to the beautiful nearby lakes.
We will go back – no question.

The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated and furnished and extremely comfortable and well equipped. The attention to detail was excellent and we genuinely couldn’t fault it. We had a wonderful stay for my son’s 21st – a real family break.

Superb holiday cottage – so well equipped.
Beds were very comfy and we loved the Aga.
Perfect location for exploring. The Blacksmiths Arms at Broughton Mills is fab for food and you must go to Bakehouse Born & Bread in Greenodd for brunch.
We would all love to come back.
Grandma loved ‘The Nook’.
