Luxury Bathroom Just Fitted

Carree Cottage is a luxury cottage that is full of charm and character and is furnished and equipped to a very high standard.

The cottage is beautifully presented with every convenience and lots of thoughtful extras and has just been redecorated.

Carree Cottage is located in a very peaceful setting in the South Lakeland village of Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria and is situated away from any roads yet only a minutes’ walk to the centre of the village and the 2 village pubs-both of which serve good food.

Converted from a 19th Century barn by a local craftsman, Carree Cottage has thick stone walls, a large inglenook fireplace, with many original features, oak beams, and is beautifully furnished using a mixture of stylish new and antique furniture. The cottage has every modern convenience you would expect and need in a luxury Lakeland cottage, and lots of ‘thoughtful extras’ too.

The lounge has a large bay window which lets the sunlight flood in, a large sofa, 2 matching arm chairs, multi channel (Freeview) LCD TV, DVD, CD player, radio and some good old fashioned board games and plenty of books too. The large inglenook fireplace is the focal point of the lounge. A lovely way to relax at the end of the day.

The fully equipped kitchen is kitted out to a very high standard with many German appliances and has a new built-in double oven, halogen/ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, Bosch dishwasher, tumble drier, microwave and everything you’d expect to have in a luxury cottage plus maybe a bit more too. Mains gas central heating is at your control for whenever you want to use it and there is a combi-boiler for instant hot water. Heating, gas, and electric are all included in the price.

The dining area has a large antique pine table with 6 chairs, crockery, glasses and cutlery for 6 people too.

The 3 bedrooms sleep 6 people comfortably. The main double bedroom is very elegantly and luxuriously furnished with a new cast iron bed, a new dressing table with plenty of drawer space, new bedside table with more drawers, stool, built in cottage style wardrobe, a deep window seat and more oak beams. The twin bedded room overlooking the garden and fields also has a new dressing table with plenty of drawer space, new bedside table with more drawers, stool, and again a built in wardrobe. The 3rd bedroom which also overlooks the garden has 2 single beds arranged as bunk beds, a new large chest of drawers, a stair gate, full size travel cot and another built in wardrobe too. The cottage also has a high chair, provided free of charge. Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft fluffy white towels provided free of charge.

In June 2011, Carree Cottage had a complete new bathroom fitted. This contemporary luxury bathroom is fully tiled and boasts a powerful thermostatic shower with variable height head, a new bath, wash basin & toilet, a stylish chrome heated towel rail, recessed LED lighting and lots of luxury bathroom fittings.

Outside, to the rear, the cottage has its own lovely, totally enclosed, private cottage style garden overlooking open fields with a variety of plants, shrubs and wild flowers, a patio area, garden table & chairs, and barbecue. The cottage also has its own garage for the sole use of guests.

All of our holiday cottages are provided with lots of information on the local area, the Lake District and Cumbria with several books, folders and leaflets containing plenty of walks and our own personal recommendations for places to visit. We also send all of our guests a detailed list of our favourite pubs, restaurants and places to buy great local food giving you some wonderful inside knowledge and a valuable head start.

Dog lovers are welcome to bring along their dog(s) with them by prior arrangement and for a small charge. Non pet owners can rest assured that we spend this extra money on additional cleaning so that non pet owners would have no idea a dog has stayed at the cottage.

This is a great area for dog owners with walks from the doorstep and there are plenty of fields, footpaths, woods and beaches all open to the public to ensure that your dog can run around off the lead.
