We had a lovely week at Cartmel Hill especially with the wonderful dry and sunny weather which made for a very enjoyable stay. We certainly appreciated the new sofas in the living room and hopefully we will have the opportunity to visit again in the not too distant future.

We have really enjoyed our weekend at Cartmel Hill. Fabulous views, sheep & lambs in the fields and daily walks into Cartmel. We have not used the cars at all.
Thank you for such a relaxing stay with the bonus of sunshine 🌞

Cartmel Hill is a well-appointed and spacious house in a great rural location.
The house is stunning and very well equipped, with lots of indoor and outdoor space.
Our host Simon was excellent with lots of useful advice and a real passion for the area.
A premium stay in all respects and we can’t wait to return!

All too soon our time at Cartmel Hill has come to a close.
We’ve had a fabulous time in this gorgeous house. The children especially liked the summer house and lighting the log fire (even in summer! 😊)
It was great to be able to avoid the traffic and walk down the hill to ‘Cartmel Show’.

“Grand house with a homely family feel”
Another fantastic holiday at Cartmel Hill.
Number data – 7 days -3 generations of our family and our 9th visit to this property since 2018 – that says it all.
The location is fabulous creating a sense of remoteness yet still being very close to the village and within a short driving distance of all the lovely attractions and walks that this corner of the Lake District has to offer.
We’ve seen it in a number of seasons in all weathers. The house is brilliant. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped and always very clean.
The lovely large garden plus the field with the cattle/sheep are an added treat for younger and not so young party members.
Simon and team do a magnificent job and from the booking system right through, all is faultless. Still get the same wow factor driving up the road and catching a glimpse of the house as we did the first time.
Have stayed in all but one of Simon’s other properties and all have also been brilliant. Small company yes but big on what matters service, consideration and consistency.

2nd time staying in 1 of Simon’s cottages and as expected it was amazing!
Beautiful house with amazing views.
We love Cartmel, there’s always a warm welcome and it was a pleasant walk there through the fields.
We had an issue with a fan in 1 of the bathrooms but Simon was so quick to sort it out. We couldn’t fault the place.
The house is very welcoming and warm and has made our stay very cosy.
The weather was a bit hit and miss but the amazing summer house meant that we could still enjoy being outside with the lights, heaters and bonus of a fridge in the summer house.
Looking forward to our next stay in 1 of Simon’s cottages, we’re working our way through them.
