Enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday. A great house accommodating three generations and a lively springer spaniel.

Lots of lovely eateries in the area with shout-outs to Levens Hall, The Cavendish Arms, The Pig and Whistle, and L’Enclume.

A week is not enough time to enjoy this beautiful part of the country, so I’m sure we will be back 😊

We particularly enjoyed sitting in the conservatory watching the squirrels and a variety of little birds, including robins, treecreepers, and a woodpecker – The Burke – Westons, Scotland

5 Star Google Review

Stayed with our dog and two friends at Weaver Cottage w/b 11 – 18 September. Second visit, even better than before!

Simon is an extremely helpful host.

Last word in comfort and facilities – two bedrooms downstairs is a real bonus if you can’t manage the stairs. Another big plus is the private driveway – a rare thing for a self-catering cottage in Cartmel.

Also excellent location – just a five minute walk into the centre, eg Rogan&Co and four pubs (Cavendish is our favourite). In fact, Pig & Whistle is even closer, though never actually been there.

Strongly recommend Weavers Cottage – though not too strongly as we want to make sure it’s not booked when we wish to return!

Hello Simon

My son Daniel who accompanied us on this holiday has written and submitted a 5 Star Google review.

I thought I would personally respond to your request for feedback on our holiday experience.

Firstly I need to say that we were delighted by the outstanding presentation of this property and its grounds.

We regularly spend holidays in the UK in rental properties and we have noticed a disappointing trend in recent years. A lot of these have been hired through larger holiday companies who do not have the same ‘hands on’ characteristic as shown in The Weavers Cottage. Your diligence in inspecting, maintaining and caring is obvious to see.

We have stayed in Cartmel before but this week outshone all others. We were pleased to find the walk to the Village centre was easy despite our advancing years. We appreciated having the shop and Pig and Whistle (dined once, very good) close by. Our lunch at L’Enclume was outstanding but we were a little disappointed by our lunch at Rogan & Co. Our Sunday lunch at The Cavendish was brilliant and we enjoyed having a drink in the fascinating garden at The Royal Oak.

And the Hazelmere Cafe at Grange is a gem.

We packed a great deal into the week. No long distance stuff but making sure we enjoyed the village and visiting the atmospheric places on the top of the Bay: Cark, Kents Bank, Grange, Arnside and Silverdale (some of this travelling by train).

All in all, a memorable week. Thanks to all involved in presenting and maintaining this delightful cottage

Hi Simon

Just wanted to say we are here in our happy place.

It was pristine when we arrived and as gorgeous as ever.

Gosh, I love Cartmel in June! It was very peaceful yesterday and with the sun shining, so beautiful.

We are very excited about going to Cartmel Races, having never been before, I am sure it will be lots of fun.

Sally 😊

Another lovely trip. Excellent as usual and the added bonus of wonderful weather.

Great food at Rogan’s and a special mention for the Royal Oak (Cartmel) new owners and fab food….and what a wonderful beer garden at the rear by the stream – John & Kate Evans, Oswestry, Shropshire

What a wonderful stay in Weaver’s Cottage.

The weather changed and looked very kindly down on us, absolutely glorious.

We did lots of walking. Carmel is so delightful.

Haven’t been to the Lake District for 35 years. It surely is God’s own country – Paul Derrett, Worcestershire
