“Relaxing time with the family”
We’ve just spent a wonderful five days at Sawmill Cottage, seven of us including our son and daughter and mum and dad all adults and our two fur babies.
The cottage was lovely very tastefully decorated still keeping its unique charm, the garden was beautiful with a stream running by at the end. The cottage is home from home with everything thing there that you would want or need.
We visited Bowness and Ambleside and had some lovely meals at ‘The Flying Pig and The Albert in Bowness, The Apple Pie cafe in Ambleside also Cuckoo Brow Inn in Far Sawrey where the food was excellent. Our two dogs were welcomed in all of them.
The weather was mixed so on a rainy day we booked a spa day at Low Wood Resort and it was fabulous!
I would definitely recommend this lovely cottage and recommend booking with Holiday Cottages Cumbria, Simon was very helpful with any questions and advice. We’ve already booked another cottage with this company for March, can’t wait!! – Wendy Pate

“Great place to stay”
Great place and we enjoyed staying there, we set up badminton on the lawn by the river and mucked about in the river with the teenage kids when the level fell enough.
Lots of trips to Coniston to swim and boat. The hill behind the house is great for walks and an easy pedal over to Grizedale Forest for more adventure – Simon Crabtree

“Superb Lake District Rental Property”
A superbly appointed and fully kitted out holiday rental. Sawmill Cottage is ideally located as a base from which to explore the Lake District.
The accurate and highly comprehensive website description completely underplays the sheer comfort and magnificent setting of the property. It was a genuine joy to return to Sawmill Cottage after full days of exploration of the stunning local environment.
Enjoying outstanding weather, we were able to take full benefit of the outside riverside dining area and we found no incentive sufficient to tempt us away from the cottage in the evening.
Situated in a stunning and really peaceful location and welcoming visitors with dogs, the exceptionally luxurious and extremely comfortable Sawmill Cottage comes very highly recommended and is a holiday rental property that we hope to return to very soon – Philip Burrell, Tavistock, Devon
