Our 3rd family get together at Sawmill Cottage and still just as good as ever.
We enjoyed stargazing at Grizedale Observatory with a meal at the Eagles Head, both thoroughly recommended.
Also, alpaca walking at Wastwater with a meal at the Wasdale Head Inn and the ferry to Peel Island for an audience with the King and lunch at the Ship Inn watching the seals in the bay.
The Red Lion (the nearest pub – 1 mile away) was as reliable as ever and the Manor House (10 minutes drive from the cottage) was exceptionally good. All in all, another great holiday The Fletcher family – Southport, Lancs

We’ve had a lovely week here celebrating two birthdays and Liv’s degree result and have been very lucky with the weather for the most part.
Ralph has had fun swimming at Coniston. We had great fun on the Segways at Cartmel, visited Brantwood, went on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway, walked up the hills from the cottage and chilled on the patio with a drink or two!
We also booked a private chef tasting menu which was absolutely superb. We’ve packed a lot in but a week doesn’t seem long enough. Mind you, I think Ralph will sleep all the way back to Bedfordshire.

We had a wonderful time. We’re fairly earnest walkers and got some amazing hikes despite the weather, and we found the cottage super comfortable and clean. The stream at the bottom of the garden is magical!

This gave us an opportunity to celebrate our wonderful Darren/dad. What an amazing place to spend seven wonderful days as a family.
Highly recommend the Manor House Inn at OxenPark. We have been many times and it never disappoints.
We managed to squeeze in the Via Ferrata at Honister, Blencathra and biking in Grizedale. Ulverston is definitely worth a mooch – lovely independent shops.
