Grange End Cottage is a luxurious 4 star and adorable 3 bedroomed cottage that’s full of charm and character with a roaring log fire & 4 poster bed. This much loved cottage is furnished  & equipped to a very high standard and is a cottage with a real ‘wow factor’!

This cottage is ideal for couples,  families and groups of friends  and is beautifully presented with every modern convenience, lots of thoughtful extras, and has been recently refurbished to a very high standard and just been totally re-redecorated.

The cottage is located in a very peaceful setting in the little village of Cark-in-Cartmel away from any roads yet only a minutes walk to the centre of the village and the 2 great village pubs both of which serve good food. We send all our guests our list of our favourite places to eat, drink and buy great local produce.

Converted from a 19th Century barn by a local craftsman, Grange End Cottage has thick stone walls, a large, inglenook fireplace, many original features including owl holes (now glassed in), oak beams and is lavishly furnished using a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture The cottage has every modern convenience you would expect and need in a luxury Lakeland cottage and lots of ‘little extras’ too.

The lounge has a large bay window which lets the sunlight flood in, 3 seater settee, 2 matching arm chairs, Sony 32” multi channel (Freeview) LCD TV, DVD, i Phone/ipod docking station, CD player & DAB radio. There are some good old fashioned board games, plenty of books, and even a chair made out of an old oak barrel. The inglenook fireplace is the focal point of the lounge. The perfect way to relax at the end of the day.

The fully equipped kitchen has a new double oven with a halogen/ceramic hob, a family sized fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier, microwave and everything you’d expect to have in a luxury cottage and maybe a bit more too. Full central heating is at your control for whenever you want to use it and there is a combi-boiler for instant hot water. Heating, gas, and electric are all included in the price.

The dining area has a large antique pine table with 6 chairs and crockery, glasses and cutlery for 6 people too.

The 3 bedrooms comfortably sleep 6 people. The romantic 4-poster bedroom has a dressing table and stool, built in cottage style wardrobe and more oak beams! The 4-poster bed is equipped with the latest luxury Tempur memory foam mattress.

The twin bedded room overlooking the garden and fields also has a dressing table and built in wardrobe. The 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds arranged as bunk beds, a few children’s toys, a stair gate, full size travel cot and another built in wardrobe too. The cottage also has a high chair, provided free of charge.

Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft fluffy white towels provided free of charge.

The modern bathroom has just been refurbished to a very high standard is equipped with a full sized bath, a powerful built-in electric shower, wash basin with a very ornate, large illuminated mirror above, toilet and heated towel rail.

Outside, to the rear, the cottage has its own lovely, private cottage style garden overlooking open fields with a variety of plants, shrubs and wild flowers, a patio area, garden table & chairs, and barbecue. The cottage also has its own garage for the sole use of guests.

We have been awarded 4 stars by Enjoy England (previously known as Visit Britain). This is an award we have maintained for a number of years now and is not just awarded for facilities and equipment, but for cleanliness, hygiene, and décor too.

All of our holiday cottages are provided with lots of information on the local area, the Lake District and Cumbria with several books, folders and leaflets containing over 100 walks  and our own personal recommendations for places to visit. We also send all of our guests a detailed list of our favourite pubs, restaurants and places to buy great local food giving you some wonderful inside knowledge and a valuable head start.

The Grange End Library is a bookcase where guests are invited to swap a paperback book for any of the paperback books that are in the cottage. This is especially helpful if you start to read one of our books and don’t get to finish reading it by the end of your stay.

Dog lovers are welcome to bring along their dog(s) with them by prior arrangement and for a small charge. Non pet owners can rest assured that we spend this extra money on additional cleaning so that non pet owners would have no idea a dog has stayed at the cottage.

This is a great area for dog owners with walks from the doorstep and there are plenty of fields, footpaths, woods and beaches all open to the public to ensure that your dog can run around off the lead.
